What we collect

BetterAborlan.org does not require an account and does not ask visitors for personal information to browse the site. We do not sell or share visitor data with third parties.

Third-party data on this site

Some widgets (weather, currency exchange rates, map tiles) call public third-party APIs directly from your browser to display live data. No personal information is sent to them beyond what any standard web request includes (e.g., your IP address, handled by those providers under their own policies).

Chatbot and the optional research log

Questions you type into the BetterAborlan Chatbot are sent to Groq, an AI provider, to generate an answer. Common questions are answered directly in your browser without being sent anywhere. Please do not type personal details such as your full name, address, or ID numbers into the chatbot.

Below the chat box is an optional "share my questions" checkbox. It is off unless you turn it on. When it is on, we store your question, the chatbot's answer, any thumbs up/down you give, the site language, and the time. We do not store your IP address, browser details, name, or anything that identifies you or links your questions together across visits.

This log is used only to check how accurate the chatbot is, to improve it, and for research on civic chatbots. Questions may be quoted in research publications, with any personal details removed. Entries are kept for up to two years and then deleted. You can stop sharing at any time by unchecking the box. Because nothing in the log identifies you, we cannot find and delete a specific person's entries after they are saved.

Hosting

This site is hosted on Vercel, which may log standard web request data (IP address, user agent) for operational and security purposes.
